Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using Vehix. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Vehix mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”) operated by Vehix (“we”, “us”).
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
2. Service Description
Vehix provides:
- A vehicle management platform to track service history, fuel logs, and costs.
- AI-powered diagnostic assistance (“AI Mechanic”) — for informational purposes only, not a substitute for professional mechanical advice.
- A peer-to-peer car marketplace where users can list and enquire about vehicles.
- Community forums for car-related discussions.
- Pre-purchase advisory tools based on publicly available data.
Important: AI Mechanic responses are informational only. Always consult a qualified mechanic before making safety-critical decisions about your vehicle.
3. User Obligations
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating your account and listings.
- Maintain one account per person.
- Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API.
- Not post misleading or fraudulent listings in the marketplace.
- Not upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these obligations without prior notice.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
Vehix offers the following plans:
- Free tier: Limited features at no cost.
- Pro Monthly: £4.99/month, billed monthly.
- Pro Yearly: £39.99/year, billed annually (saving ~33%).
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges to your payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Under UK consumer law, you have a 14-day right to cancel from the date of purchase for a full refund, provided you have not used the Pro features during that period. To cancel, contact legal@vehix.uk.
5. Marketplace
Vehix provides a platform for users to list and discover vehicles. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of your listing information.
- Conducting your own due diligence before purchasing a vehicle.
- Complying with applicable laws when selling a vehicle.
Vehix does not guarantee the accuracy of third-party listings and accepts no liability for transactions conducted between users.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of all content you upload (photos, vehicle records, etc.). By uploading content, you grant Vehix a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display that content solely for providing the Service.
The Vehix brand, app design, and underlying software are owned by Vehix and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vehix is not liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the Service.
- Loss or corruption of data.
- Decisions made based on AI Mechanic responses.
- Losses arising from marketplace transactions between users.
Our total liability for any claim is capped at the total subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed within 30 days.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
